The elusive creature is crepuscular (mainly active at dawn and dusk). Distinctive features of light brown fur with yellow/cream bib, yellow trim to the ears. Approximately 50cm in length with a tail of a further 25cm weighing between 1.5 and 2kg. They reach a sexual maturity age at 2/3 years with a life span of about 10 years.
They live in wooded areas and make their dens in hollow trees, have a varied diet of voles, mice, birds, eggs, fogs, fungi and berries - I noticed they like peanuts too (wink)! Shy curious and very territorial.
